Gardenside Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking to fill a new full-time position of Minister of Youth and Outreach. We are a smaller congregation, in a larger facility, with a huge opportunity to build a dynamic youth ministry and connect with families within our immediate community. Minister of Youth /Outreach OBJECTIVES: To plan, direct, develop, monitor and promote a Biblical youth ministry that prioritizes and centers on God’s word. It shall include outreach activities and promote Christian discipleship in accordance with the developmental process and needs of this age group. In addition, serve to lead our church in outreach and connecting to our community to draw in both individuals and families into our fellowship. JOB CLASSIFICATION: The Minister of Youth/Outreach shall be a full-time, 40 hour per-week position. 1 week vacation will be given at the end of 1 year of service and 2 weeks after the 2 nd year of service. Previous ministry experience will be taken into consideration. In addition, there will be allotted a total 15 additional days for sick days, personal days and holidays. RESPONSIBILITIES: Minister of Youth/Outreach shall work closely with the Pastor in promoting the youth ministry, family ministry and other ministries within the church in planning of Bible studies, special events and activities. In addition, the Minister of Youth/Outreach shall also correspond with the Children’s Ministry Directors in coordinating age-appropriate activities to connect with and promote inclusion of younger siblings and family members. Additional duties will include organizing, promoting and leading outreach and evangelism training.
